One demonstration of our games’ learning potential came from study of Motion Math: Fractions. It’s one of the only apps to have a controlled, published efficacy study showing a real learning impact. In the study, 122 Los Angeles 5th graders played the iPad game for 5 days for 20 minutes each. They improved 15% on fractions estimation and 10% in attitudes towards math, based on standard test items. The study was published after peer review by the Games and Culture journal.
